A Stain Remover That Won’t Disappoint

15 Mar

Every once in awhile Blair gets a bee in her bonnet and wants to share some news about a spectacular product that has made life a little easier for her.  Folks, allow me to introduce 409 Carpet & Stain Remover.

Many moons ago, I picked up a can of this amazing product at my local Big Lots store.  I believe I spent about a buck ninety-nine.  And I have to tell you, this product is amazing and worth it’s weight in gold.  (well, maybe not gold…but you catch my drift!)

I’ve used this product to remove pet stains, soda & coffee stains and even paint stains!  Recently, my daughter’s carpet had a small stain that looked like it was made by a black Sharpie marker.  This stain had been in her carpet for awhile, and was clearly embedded into the fibers.  I went to the cupboard and grabbed my faithful can of 409 Carpet & Stain Remover.  In a minute, that stain was GONE.  Completely and totally gone.

To tackle any tough stain, simply spray a tiny bit of this magic stuff onto the stained area. The solution automatically foams up. I like to let it sit for a minute or so. Then I take a small scrub brush and gently work the solution into the stain. Next, place a clean towel over the stain and pat dry. Allow the towel to sit on the spot for a few minutes. When the spot is dry, you can run a vacuum right over it.  You’ll be really pleased to notice that the toughest stains are totally gone and there is no discoloration to the fibers in the carpet.

So, there you have it!  Blair finds it worth her time to share this marvelous product with others.  Others rate this product with high reviews, too. You can read more reviews about 409 Carpet & Stain Remover right here.

Thanks for letting me share!

Mop this Way

12 Jan

Oh…life is good when you find a device that can simplify the mundane tasks of life (such as mopping the floor.) Life is even BETTER when you receive such a useful device as a Christmas gift! Today, I am proud to recommend a product that not only made mopping the floor a breeze but it made the floor look beautiful as well. Word to your Mother!

Can I just say that the HAAN Slim & Light Sanitizing Steam mop just freaking ROCKS?  “It rocks!”

The downstairs of our house is solid hardwood floors. I love hardwood floors… but I love them even more when they shine and are free of bacteria, dirt and germs.

I love the fact that I could open the box for this sanitizing mop and use it within a couple of minutes.   There was nothing tricky to assemble and the directions for using the mop were easy to understand. So easy — even for someone like me that hates assembling things (with a passion) and is “techno-challenged”(ask anyone who really knows me).

Instantly, I could assemble the mop, fill the reservoir with water and plug it right in.  20 seconds later, the mop is steaming and ready to roll.

The HAAN Slim and Light Sanitizing mop is just that — slim, light and easy to use.

I like the fact that the slim size allowed it to manuever easily beside the commode.  You know that little area where you really DON’T want to get down on your hands and knees to clean? Yeah you do. Well, you won’t even have to get anywhere near there. This mop rolls right around the surface emitting its powerful steam and completely sanitizing the floor.  Sweet, huh?

The mop can also be used as a carpet glide. This function allows the floor mop to freshen, deodorize and sanitize carpeting, rugs, upholstery, pet cushions and more.  As well, it is safe for all surfaces including tile, hardwood, laminate, linoleum and vinyl.

It’s nice to use a product that relies on natural methods for cleaning…no harsh chemicals, no filmy residue. No fake, funky smells!  Just steam and water. If you have children or pets, this mop is a MUST. You really will find it a pleasure to mop the floor!

Blair Sees the Light

23 Oct

Call it a bit strange, maybe even a little weird. But I just hung a chandelier. In my bathroom. Above the commode.

You see, I was highly drawn to a really interesting, funky chandelier recently at a neighborhood yard sale. My neighbors clearly have some pretty fantastic junk  items to sell.  They always do, each time the area has a yard sale.  And I’m always in the market for fantastic stuff.  So, I enjoy cruising the yard sales to see if there are any rare books, or kitschy items that look interesting.  And sometimes I find something really fun…like this chandelier.

I loved, loved, loved this light fixture the moment I saw it.  I was drawn to the hanging crystals and found its antique-ish flavor appealing.  Not to mention that the price was obscenely cheap.  But I had no place (at all) where this thing could go.

Literally, I searched high and low.  The only place that I could find for this chandelier was…above the toilet in the master bathroom.

You see, the light fixture that was formerly above the commode was just a lightbulb.  A boring lightbulb screwed in to the ceiling.

How dull is that?

This lone bulb was so solitary and depressing that it stirred up visions of being under an interrogation in a police department.

Not fun.

I like fun, of course!

So naturally, I had to buy the chandelier.  I suppose it could be called the “commodolier”.

That’s right. This beauty is hanging up right above the ol’ John.

But, you know what? I love it!

Yeah it is a little odd, but hey…why not feel a little  like Royalty when visiting the porcelain throne?

Shining On,

Blair

Plant Rehab Project

16 Jun

Today I would like to share a great tip that many people overlook when it comes to buying plants. It’s true that one can spend a small fortune at their local nursery when shopping for annuals, perennials and other flora and fauna. Did you know that many nurseries have a clearance table where plants are marked down at discounted prices? Normally that table is in a non-conspicuous area of the nursery, usually in the back. On that discount table, you’re likely to find a pitiful array of plants in various stages of demise. But you also may be able to find several diamonds in the rough.

The potted petunias pictured here were recently purchased for $3.00! Sure, when I brought the pot of them home there were quite a few blooms that needed to be plucked, or “dead headed” off of the plant. And yes, the plant did need a good watering. But this photo was taken just after I “dead headed” and watered the plant.  The plant looks even more vibrant days later.  I think it makes an attractive addition to the porch for a very reasonable price, and I expect it to bloom most of the summer.

My area has numerous local farms, so I am often able to get good deals on plants from these growers, as well. I have a favorite farm that I visit often because I know I can find beautiful, healthy plants that will last. And I just like driving out to this place.

As I was plucking the dead flowers off of this plant, I began to think about how easy it is to ignore the potential that can exist, in any living being.  Plant or not, sometimes we walk past the table of items that may not be as attractive as the table out front.  Sometimes we ignore sights or situations that may not be as pretty, as easy or as convenient as we think/hope/want them to be. Sometimes one has to pick away at the dead parts to get to the living again.  These are just a few things to think about.
